KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Less guesswork. More starting-line energy.

The 2027 workout is set. Here’s how the race, the season, and the advance registration list work.

The Race

What is the STACK?

An outdoor fitness race at a football-field and track stadium. The 2027 workout has seven exercise zones, with running before each zone. Finish the full STACK as fast as you can. See the 2027 STACK page for the workout and course flow.

What will the weights be for Men & Women at STACK for 2027?

For Exercise 1, the kettlebell will be 30lb for Men & 20lb for Women. For Exercise 2, the weight will be 25lb free weights for Men and 15lb for Women. For Exercise 4, the weights will be 20lb free weights for Men and 10lb for Women. For Exercise 6, the Plate will weigh 25lb for Men and 15lb for Women. For Exercise 7, the Medicine Ball will weigh 20lb for Men and 10lb for Women.

Does the workout change every race?

The same STACK is used throughout the 2027 season. Train for the published workout, race it, and come back to improve your time.

Do I have to be an elite athlete?

The goal is a fun, challenging race for recreational competitors as well as experienced athletes. The 2027 workout, weights, repetitions, and distances are published so you can prepare. Any entry categories or scaling options will be announced separately.

How long does a race take?

The design target is about an hour for an average competitor. Your time will depend on your pace and the final workout; this is a target, not a time guarantee.

When and where is the first race?

Orange County and San Jose are the confirmed locations for the 2027 Spring/Summer STACK season. Exact event dates and stadiums will be announced.

When does registration open?

Race sign-ups are planned for late January 2027. Competitors on the email list will be notified 72 hours before the STACK 2027 sign-up date is publicly announced. Spaces fill fast. Joining the list or creating an account does not reserve an entry.

Will there be shade at the exercise stations?

Canopies will cover a good portion of exercises 2, 3, 4 and 5: Standing Floor to Ceiling, Burpees, Supine Shoulder to Sky, and Push-Up Release & Full-Body Crunches. Running and the other stations remain outdoors.

Can friends and family watch?

Absolutely—that’s part of the idea. The stadium layout is designed to keep the race in view, with designated spectator areas between the 40-yard lines, a 20-yard space separate from competitors. Final access, admission, and spectator guidance will be announced.

What is the burpee challenge?

Our plan puts a Stacks team member at the 50-yard line in the center of the field doing one Burpee for every dollar donated toward the fight against human trafficking. People who want to help can join the reps in the designated area, away from the race course. Donation arrangements and participation details will be announced.

Which organizations do you plan to support?

The planned beneficiaries are A21 and the Tim Tebow Foundation, whose work includes fighting human trafficking. We’ll share the donation route, allocation, and confirmed arrangements before the event. Stacks is not collecting donations on this site yet.

What comes in the welcome bag?

The planned bag includes a water bottle, a Stacks Fitness Racing T-shirt, and a voucher for a free stack of pancakes. The idea is to redeem the pancakes before or after your race. Final items, sizing, and redemption conditions will be confirmed.

Is this a HYROX event?

No. Stacks Fitness Racing is an independent fitness-race concept. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by HYROX.

What should I bring?

Start with running shoes and clothing you can move in. Confirmed equipment requirements, arrival times, hydration guidance, and other preparation details will be published on the event page.

Your account

What happens to the email I leave?

Your email stays within our database and is never sold. We use your opt-in for STACK registration announcements and race updates. Leaving your email does not create a race entry; creating a member account is optional.

Do I need an account to join the interest list?

No. The interest list just needs your email and consent to receive registration announcements and Stacks race updates. A member profile is separate; neither signs you up for a race.

Does a member account subscribe me to race emails?

Account signup does not subscribe you to marketing. Registration announcements require a separate, explicit email opt-in. If you enter a race, essential confirmation, cancellation, and race updates go to your account email.

How do I confirm my email or reset my password?

Use the confirmation link after signup. If it’s missing, check spam or request another from the sign-in page. Password recovery is also available there. Account email verification is separate from the race interest list.
